Product Review | Venus Embrace Sensitive

Hey, all!

Today I am here with a brand new type of review - a product review! I am a member of Influenster.com - a social media website where consumers and gather, review, and discuss their favorite (and not so favorite) products. You can't imagine my excitement when I received an email that said that I qualified to try out my very first Influenster sponsored item... the new Venus Embrace Sensitive! Click down below to read my thoughts about this razor.

My skin background...

I have had pretty bad luck all my life with razors and skin issues that are related to sensitivity. As far as my legs go, I'm always getting those nasty little in grown hairs and have yet to find a razor that minimizes the problem. I know that the razor isn't the only factor that goes into the irritation that I've experienced, but it is a contributing factor. My underarms are always incredibly sensitive, and I've often experienced profound dryness... and don't get me started on my bikini area. If you take all of the issues that I experience with my legs and underarms and multiply them by ten, you can get an idea of what I've been dealing with. Also, three nasty little words: Little. Red. Bumps.

The only hair removal technique that I've tested and can use to help with these problems is by using some sort of hair removal cream (Veet, Nair, etc.). I usually have to use that cream first, and then go over my legs with a razor.

(Takes a deep breath.)

So, when Influenster gave me the opportunity to test out a razor made specifically for sensitive skin, I was very excited.

Thoughts while using the Venus Embrace razor:

It was incredibly smooth going across my skin. I can often feel the razor blades as I'm shaving and I was so surprised by how soft (???) the razor felt. The two lotion strips that border the blades are very moisturizing and helped keep my skin nice and smooth!
*I shaved using the EOS shaving cream.

The pros:

Dual lotion strips definitely helped reduce dryness.
The five blades allowed for a nice, close shave.
I didn't feel the blades tugging at my skin... at all!
A day after shaving, my skin was smooth with little to no irritation.

The cons:

I only really have one con for this razor... I didn't find that the blades picked up much hair initially. I had to go over the same area at least twice to make sure that every part of my skin was shaved.

All in all, I really enjoyed this razor. Would I purchase it? Yes.

Let me know what some of your favorite sensitive skin products are!

  1. Many people believe all that is necessary to good skin care is using the right cleansers and lotions. Actually, there is a great deal more to the story than just these products. Moved here
