OTP Friday | Tate and Violet

One Friday a month, I'm showcasing an OTP of mine because... well, why not? And as this is the first OTP Friday that I will be doing, I thought that I would ease you into the feature by choosing a canon OTP. What's a canon OTP, you ask? Well, I'll tell you. That means that the relationship pairing exists within the constructs of the universe (i.e., Ginny and Harry are a canon pairing. We'll get to this next month.) I make this distinction because it will be rare that my OTP Fridays are canon... but it will be okay. I promise you.

American Horror Story: Murder House was the first season of the cult favorite TV show AHS. The story follows a young family who moves across country following a family crisis and attempts to pick up the pieces of their lives and start fresh... but there is one slight, tiny, insignificant issue with their plan. You see, they've purchased a ridiculously haunted house - aptly nicknamed Murder House.

If you're not familiar with the show or the story, you may be scratching your head and asking, "Alyssa, how could you possibly find romance within a story line so f*cked up?" It's possible, I tell you. Very possible.

Enter Tate Langdon (played by Evan Peters) and Violet Harmon (played by Taissa Farmiga). Violet is the angsty and awkward daughter of the said family and Tate is... well... I just don't want to spoil things for you.

I have never shipped a couple so hard and despite my fiance's thousands of attempts to point out how unhealthy their relationship is, I just won't hear it. There is something about Tate and Violet that make me an emotional, weepy mess... despite the fact that I know their story and I know how it ends. But I can't help it - sometimes, late at night, I'll find myself falling deeper and deeper into Tate/Violet fan videos on YouTube. You should try it some time... they're really very beautiful.

So, do you ship Tate and Violet? Let me know your thoughts. And until next time, I'll leave you with this.
