"What happens when you're stalked by Death? You fall in love with him, of course.
Pagan Moore doesn't cheat Death, but instead, falls in love with him.
Seventeen year old Pagan Moore has seen souls her entire life. Once she realized the strangers she often saw walking through walls were not visible to anyone else, she started ignoring them. If she didn't let them know she could see them, then they left her alone. Until she stepped out of her car the first day of school and saw an incredibly sexy guy lounging on a picnic table, watching her with an amused smirk on his face. Problem is, she knows he's dead.
Not only does he not go away when she ignores him, but he does something none of the others have ever done. He speaks. Pagan is fascinated by the soul. What she doesn't realize is that her appointed time to die is drawing near and the wickedly beautiful soul she is falling in love with is not a soul at all.
He is Death and he's about to break all the rules."

Abbi Glines makes Death look sexy. Death being Dank Walker a hot rocker who just so happens to be death incarnate. Existence is told from the point of view of Pagan who just so happens to see spirits. None of them have ever spoken to her before until Dank but she realizes that Dank isn't like the other spirits. Before Pagan falls for Dank Walker she falls for Leif. Leif is the boy next door who she doesn't like but is forced to tutor. Through tutoring Leif they begin to fall in love. Leif seems way more interested in Pagan than her in him. She is still obsessed with mysterious spirit that she doesn't understand.
I have read two other books by Abbi Glines but both were contemporary. I have to say that I enjoyed her paranormal romance much more than her contemporary. Abbi Glines is known having love triangles and I love that they are always so believable. For the majority of the novel I was really rooting for Pagan and Leif to be together. Dank was very much in and out of this book and Leif was very much a constant.
Pagan cheats death. This is the turning point is this story. Dank saves her and puts a whole chain of events into motion. Leading to the more paranormal aspects of this book. As well as Dank and Pagan growing closer to each other. Pagan fall in love with death which actually saves her in the end.
The ending was a huge cliff hanger that I didn't see coming but was hinted at. I just didn't want that to happen. But I am excited to see where this series goes. It is a different take on the Lord of the Underworld and who doesn't love some hot guys in a book. I definitely recommend this book for a short fun read.
